The power of our story

I just spent 2 intense days at this year’s Money, Mindset and Marketing event #MMMEvent hosted by a top notch business coach by the name of Lisa Larter. Talk about a powerful few days. There are so many things that I would love to share with you right now but I am buzzing so intensely about the following topic: The Power of our Story. I am buzzing about it because it was the theme of the conference and certainly something that I and many people struggled with.

One of the best hand-on exercises that we did on the 2nd day of the MMMEvent was to write our story. We were asked to write our current story and then write our story as we will be experiencing it November 8th 2019. What a great exercise! We were asked to tell our story the way we want it to be!

After spending a few moments bitching, complaining and whining ( in my head) about my past and why I am not where I fully want to be bla bla bla…. I got a flash-back to a great talk by Pete Bernard, Algonquin Medicine Man, when he stated in a fun and simply accurate way: ‘’Back away from the story and nobody gets hurt!’’ So true! Stop the whining about the past and all the hurts and reasons why we sabotage ourselves and move on! I chose to immediately switch to how things are going to be by this time in 2019. I raised my hand to present my ‘’this is how my life is like in November 2019 facts’’. I excitedly stated that that I will be this and I will be doing that and I will be experiencing this yada, yada, yada… I was then lovingly corrected by Lisa and an amazing speaking coach, Terri Kingston. These 2 wise women identified that I did not say: I am this and I am doing this and that and I am making this much money and I am…xyz.

What a total mind shift… insert brain expanding greatly here! There is more power in stating that ‘’I am’’ than stating that ‘’I will’’ Maybe you knew that? I just got caught still stuck in the whiny state and did not realize that I was still there….. BUSTED! I thank them dearly for calling me on it!

2018 is on it’s way out. What will your ‘’I am story’’ going to be at this time of the year next year. Go ahead and review what your story is right now then let go of it so that you now have the space to create your 2019 story in all of it’s glory. What are you doing and experiencing and enjoying because of all of the strategic, wise, and possibly hard work that you will be doing to get to experience your ultimate awesome self in November 2019

Here is a part (of a less whiny version) of my story:

I have been following Lisa Larter for about 4 years. She popped into my life through Facebook someway somehow. I was not looking to hire a top level business coach at the time because I was not even remotely clear as to ‘’what I wanted to be when I grew up’’. Can you relate to that? You know what you love and hate to do. You know what you are good and not so good at but you are not at the stage where you have the space, energy, momentum in your life/business life to hire the ‘’Big Guns’’ to coach you.

I am a fierce believer that when the student is ready the teacher appears. I may have appeared in your life and have influenced you to a certain level but you are not in a place in your life where you would benefit from the high end coaching packages that I offer….YET

I have followed Lisa Larter over the years because she consistently appeared in my inbox and my Facebook feeds with messages that were valuable along the way. I slowly invested in her less expensive programs, became a member who can access her programs and have attended the last 3 of her Money, Mindset and Marketing events and now have invested in the level of coaching that I believe is right for me for 2019 ; a huge leap of faith based on my belief in myself.

Last year I took a huge leap of faith and invested in becoming a sponsor for her event and committed to having a booth at this year’s event. This was actually a huge leap in faith in myself because I had no clear idea what I would promote at my booth! I just knew that if I committed that much money and if I was going to expose myself to a crowd of business people I would do everything in my power to get my poop in a group and do something grand. I linked up with a wonderful, kind and wise coach, Pierrette Raymond to help me stay the course and make the journey less confusing, frustrating and just more effective. Notice that I said less frustrating, confusing…. I did not say it was a walk in the park and that my coach did everything for me and that it all came together perfectly. NOPE… there was hard work, distractions, highs and lows and everything in between, but with her guidance I achieved my goal. When we commit to being accountable we see a significant difference and hit or surpass our goals each time.

Can you relate? What ‘’grand goal’’ have you set for yourself or what ‘’grand goal’’ are you willing to set for yourself without knowing exactly how you are going to get there?

I am there for you if your goal is to feel healthy, energized, more mindful, capable of surfing stress and able to live your life to the fullest with out pain, discomfort or embarrassment.

I look forward to seeing you in the yoga, mobility or workout classes. I look forward to sharing great moments in the workshops and special events that I put together with you in mind. I look forward to working one-on-one with you to fast track your way to the healthiest you that you want to be!

I look forward to being your coach and help co-create your success story!

Be well,
